When you’re a star athlete and two-time Super Bowl champion and your name – Rob Gronkowski – straddles everything from charitable organizations to energy drinks, what else do you need in this world? Your own party bus, with live, in-motion satellite TV programming, of course.
So it goes for Gronkowski, the 265-pound New England Patriots tight end, founding member of the Gronk Nation, the Gronk Nation Youth Foundation charitable organization, and inspiration for the Monster drink Gronkster.
Actually, not to miss a beat on his Super Bowl victories, there are two Gronk buses: the first one, Yo Soy Fiesta, was such a success that a second, The 87, was added to be a mobile tribute to his football career. Rockstar Limousine partners with Gronk Bus LLC to manage, maintain, and market the vehicles for private parties, transportation, weddings, and special events. Rockstar also supplies concierge service and drivers for Youth Foundation events.
Pulsing LED lighting, music videos, plush seating – all these amenities, including live TV from the KVH TracVision A9 antenna system with DIRECTV Network programming, are key to the quintessential Gronk party bus experience.
Manufacturer LGE Coachworks, which converts “empty shell” chassis into premium vehicles, has refit the two buses for the Gronkowski family. All interior customization, such as seating, flooring, lights, audio, video, and live TV, are handled by LGE.
The company’s relationship with KVH began in 2013, when a client for whom LGE was outfitting a Mercedes Sprinter requested a satellite television antenna system installation.
For LGE, the choice of KVH and its products came easily.
“The KVH website and customer service representatives are really what made us decide the company and its products were the best for us,” says Alexa Sacco, LGE company spokesperson. “Being able to call and speak with representatives easily for ordering is a major benefit to us. KVH also offers in-house assistance for the satellite installation and setup, as well as post-sale customer service. Although there are many choices out there, KVH has earned our loyalty based on the reliable product and customer service.”
The ability to offer the KVH TracVision A9 system, which includes a remote control as an additional entertainment option for coach occupants, has strengthened LGE’s reputation among clients.
“We’ve installed seven of the TracVision A9 units in the past five months,” Sacco says. “We have one unit that was just delivered for a Canada-based customer, two units to a long-time customer in Ohio, and are now offering the install of these units to customers who would like to add this feature to an LGE existing build.”
John Olinger, president and CEO of Rockstar, views the amenity of live television programming from his clients’ perspective. “When you have a client base ranging from professional athletes to private clients and business executives, it is important to find the right balance for each one of them,” he says. “Now watching a football game or staying informed on current events and news is easier than ever while traveling.”
And for one very particular team of Rockstar clients, catching the gridiron action live is one of life’s essentials. ” Working with LGE Coachworks to build a party bus like The 87 means having all the options and luxuries available — adding live satellite TV content was a must!” says Dan Gronkowski, the family’s spokesperson. “Game days are even better now that we can watch the live pre-game reports and events while tailgating!”
